National Night Out for Texas will be taking place Tuesday, October 1 as NNO celebrates it’s 30th anniversary. This event is an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and are fighting back.
The purpose of National Night Out is to meet with neighbors which is an integral part of crime prevention as well as those police officers that patrol your community. It is a celebration across America with various events and activities including block parties, cookouts, exhibits, youth events, safety demonstrations and seminars. My neighborhood scheduled a mobile snow cone vendor which was a huge hit for both kids and adults! All of these activities are planned in an effort to heighten awareness and enhance community relations while allowing neighborhoods to meet and greet each other.
Locally, the Allen Police Department welcomes the opportunity to visit with residents and share information about the recent enhancements and new programs that are available. If you are hosting an NNO neighborhood event tomorrow night in Allen, you can email Officer Chris Hester at firstname.lastname@example.org with your details to see if Allen Police Department officers are available to come by and visit your neighborhood event.
Enjoy a wonderful evening with family, friends and neighbors as your community shows your appreciation for local law enforcement and builds a stronger and safer neighborhood.
